Dr Victoria (Vicky) Forster is the Patient and Community Engagement Lead at Women’s College Hospital in Toronto, having recently finished a postdoctoral position in pediatric cancer biology at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. She is a keen science communicator and was named on the Forbes30under30 Europe list in the 'Science and Healthcare' category and a 2017 TEDGlobal fellow, giving her TED Talk on cancer survivorship in Arusha, Tanzania in August 2017. Since then she has given talks on survivorship and patient engagement in research to several organisations, including the National Institutes for Health (NIH), Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR), Society of Neuro-oncology and the American Psychosocial Oncology society.
Vicky is also a freelance science writer, having written for The Times, The Guardian and The Conversation. She is a current contributor to Forbes Health, Cancer World and Cancer Therapy Advisor. Vicky has also consulted for numerous organisations (non profit, government and private sector) on a wide range of topics including effective communication, research funding strategies and patient/public engagement in research.
