Vicky is a passionate science communicator and has extensive experience in giving public lectures and participating in science outreach events as well as giving guest lectures on science communication at universities. In addition to this, she is a published science journalist, starting with a British Science Association Media Fellowship in 2014 where she worked at The Times newspaper in London, UK, publishing 30 articles in print and online.
She is currently a contributor for Forbes and as of summer 2021 has written over 200 articles for Forbes Health, together totaling in excess of 10 million pageviews on topics ranging from oncology to neuroscience and the Covid-19 pandemic. She also currently is a recurring contributor to oncology-focused website Cancer Therapy Advisor, the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Cancer Discovery News section and has also contributed pieces to The Guardian and The Conversation as well as bespoke projects for academic institutions like the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Vicky has also done copywriting work for businesses and non-profits and more information about these specific projects is available on request.
In 2017, Vicky was named on the Forbes 30 under 30 list for Science and Healthcare in Europe and was one of 20 2017 TED Fellows, giving her TED talk on cancer survivorship in Tanzania in August 2017 and is a proficient and experienced speaker for both public and specialist audiences.
In addition, Vicky has done consulting work for businesses, non-profits and government-aligned organizations on communications and outreach strategies.
